Places to Stay

There are a number of small places to stay in the village and surrounding areas but you will need to book these fairly soon. The nearest big town is Doncaster which is about 10 miles away from the reception venue. Taxi's to Doncaster are around £10 to £12.


Here are a selection of local places to stay to suit all tastes and budgets.

Hatfield Waterpark (Campsite)

Ahh, the memories. As youths we used to canoe here. Later on we canoodled here. Just not at the same time, or with each other. There are shower facilites and its within walking distance of the Church and a short taxi ride to the reception.

Travelodge Doncaster M18/M180

There is nothing like a personalised, homely welcome and you can be sure that at the Doncaster travelodge you will receive a welcome that is neither personalised nor homely. We joke of course. Be sure to take advantage of the tea and coffee making facilities - After all you've paid for them. Thrill seekers can pop next door to the Moto services to partake in the latest video games or just to soak up the casino atmosphere by the gambling machines (over 18's only).

Belmont Hotel - Thorne 

Ranked number one B&B/Inn in the Thorne area! Out of...two. 

To be fair, this is a really nice place and it always gets cracking reviews. We haven't stayed there to try out the rooms but can confirm that the bar staff are nice people and the beers are always served cold.

Waterside Guesthouse - Thorne
Enjoy the Dolce Vita* in this lovely little guesthouse which is dates back to the 19th Century . They only have a couple of rooms so move quickly if easy access to the M18 is your kind of thing. Those lucky few who stay here will enjoy free WIFI, flatscreen TV's and so on.  
*apparently the owners speak Italian.

Ivy Court 

Last and least, its the Ivy court B&B in Hatfield. Yay!

This place is really handy as its within walking distance to the Church and a short taxi ride to the reception. You might bump into the groom (more likely he will bump into you) as he will be in the area enjoying a quiet night with a few close friends on the night before the wedding.
